Our Story
We do it in memory of a strong, courageous woman (mom)
The idea of My Caregiver Home Health Agency started back in 2017, after the mother of owner Mishell Mendoza passed away. Mishell’s mom was diabetic and on dialysis (“Helping mom with doctor appointments and medications came easy and part of my life.” said Mishell “I enjoyed helping her and keeping track of all her caring needs” she added.) after mom had a tragic fall, and she needed hip replacement surgery, things got complicated, and mom needed more help around the house. She needed PT, OT and family support (We are 8 siblings and we assisted mom as she needed) unfortunately moms’ surgery was not a success and she passed away a few months after. This was the hardest thing we had to go through as a family. however, we were Blessed to have a good caring team, that was so supportive and helped my family and I go through this hard time of our lives.
A few months later in the midst of our grief a job as a caregiver became available for a hospice patient to one of my youngest sister (My sister was not ready to take it as she was still processing moms passing, so I offered to fill in for her, and through my grief I helped a family with their loved one who was at their end of life.
Our Mother's Legacy
That’s when everything started, in time my 5 sisters and I were working with different families. And slowly started growing by recommendation and soon after the idea to turn this rewarding job into a family business of caring caregivers. All we want it is to give back what we received in our hardest time (losing our mother) we want it to be there for families in their hardship, we want it to be there for our patients with love and compassion.
In 2019 when COVID19 started, and the need for homecare grew more as many families needed help with their loved ones, that’s when we started getting more caring people in our team. Caregivers that are passionate and very caring.
Now we are growing helping many families and their loved ones. Some are end of life, some are short term care, some are long term care. We take each one personal and help each family and their loved one as if it was our own family. We truly take pride in our work and love what we do, and this is why we do everything with love.
